The Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (ACEM) is a not-for-profit organisation responsible for the training, assessment and continuing professional development of emergency physicians as well as the advancement of professional standards in emergency medicine in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.

The Position
Are you a strategic thinker with a strong grasp of health policy and government systems in Australia? Are you willing to shape impactful advocacy that improves emergency care across every state and territory?
We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Advocacy and Government Relations Manager to lead our jurisdictional advocacy work in Australia. This role is vital in advancing ACEM’s influence and ensuring our priorities are heard by decision-makers at all levels of government.
Reporting to the General Manager, Policy and Public Affairs, you will:
- Drive jurisdiction-specific advocacy with Faculty Boards and members
- Build relationships with government stakeholders and health leaders
- Develop impactful submissions, briefings, and policy content
- Identify policy trends and shape the College’s voice in public affairs
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Background in public policy, health, communications or politics
- Strong knowledge of Australian government and health systems
- Experience in strategic advocacy and stakeholder engagement
- Excellent writing, messaging and interpersonal skills
